Has been a while since my last blog update. Some of you guys also noticed i haven't been online in msn for a couple of weeks. Haha, if you don't know, i'm having my In Camp Training (ICT) and i got slightly more than a week to go till the completion of my ICT.
Currently, doing a Medical Orderly Course at Civil Defence Academy at Jalan Bahar. Great training facilities but such a secluded place... haha, i got to wake up at 5.30 every morning and travel nearly 2 hours to get there....
It's a great course and we learned quite a number of stuff. Now, most of us are equipped with better knowledge of the human body and how it works. =) Of course, we are not as well trained as the paramedics or the full time medics. But some basic critical life saving skills were passed on to us, so that we may help one another in times of emergency.
Skills such as CPR, checking for vital signs, how to provide emergency first aid for wounded people were all part and parcel of the course. Yup, sure thing that we had tests for all these. e.g we performed a full CPR on a dummy and the computer actually has a print out for us grading our skills.
The more difficult test was to setup one of your buddies on a IV drip. haha, guess all of us were nervous about poking each other with needle of a substantial size. =)
Any volunteers out there for me to hone my IV drip skills? (^-^)
